1 Grand Championship Prize: A special $500 cash prize for the student team with the highest overall portfolio value across all four divisions in the Fall or Spring Sessions.
42 Teacher Prizes: Fall game only: Win a two night stay at either the Renaissance Ross Bridge Resort or Marriott Grand Hotel at Point Clear! Teacher names to be selected at random from among all SMG teachers. Spring game only: Weekly prize drawings for gift cards and other valuable prizes.
40 Portfolio Value Cash Prizes: Prizes awarded to the top five teams with the highest ending portfolio values in both North and South Regions and in both the Elementary/Middle and the High School Divisions. A total of 40 teams will be awarded cash prizes.
80 on-line “door” prizes: Student teams have a chance to win on-line prizes regardless of the value of their portfolio! These prizes will be awarded randomly in each of the four divisions: north and south and lower (elementary/middle) and upper (high school). These on-line door prizes reinforce that participating in investing is important. We award a maximum five prizes per student team.
400 Alabama SMG “Top Ten Team” Drawstring Backpacks. A popular design your students are sure to love! Each member of a “Top Ten” team in each Regional Division will receive a drawstring backpack (limit five backpacks per team).
Special Prizes: Special prizes may be awarded to the top team, upper or lower division, competing at schools in specified communities.
The “NYSE Experience”! Win a trip to the “Big Apple” and the New York Stock Exchange at our expense. One teacher from the Fall or Spring Session will be selected for an exciting and educational trip to New York City thanks to an award from the Southern District of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association. You will enroll in the NYSE Teacher Workshop and visit the trading floor of the world’s most important stock exchange. Teacher must submit an essay by March 27, 2009. Contest details at www.alcee.org.
